Abstract

This essay evaluates the conservation of documentary heritage carried out by the General Archive of the Nation of Nicaragua, a place where documents are stored in the long term, which functions as the governing body of the archival function, implementing everything indicated in the current legal basis of the matter according to the life cycle of the documents, as well as their conditions, to ensure their preservation established in the internal rules through procedures to which the documents are subject.
The archival methodology implemented from the arrival of the document at the archive until its expurgation, respecting the Principle of Original Order, being this the value given by the producing offices, these files are stored in conservation units (box) in an orderly manner in optimal physical and climatic conditions for their preservation.
