Abstract

This study exposes the emergence of Archivology careers in Central American countries, emphasizing the variety of study plans. The objective is to explore the context where archival origins and development occurred with a view to delving into subsequent research. As a source of information, a documentary review was made, especially of their websites and through emails data was
collected from Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua. It is concluded that public universities play a role in the development of this discipline, some are born in the heat of the Department and School of History, with the exception of Panama, which was born in
the Department of Library Science. Regarding the study plans, there is a variety of curricular contents that respond to the training needs of archival professionals in Central American.
