Presentation of the Archivalía Magazine

Focus and Scope

Archivalía, is a publication published by the General University Archive of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, León (UNAN-León), whose topics are directed towards Documentary Management and Archives Administration, as well as the auxiliary sciences of archival science.

Brief historical review

In 2008, the first publication of Archivalía was published as an Informative Bulletin. Five years later, in 2013, the change to Archivalía Magazine is given, creating an impact at the national level, as it is the first magazine to be published with archival issues and with the participation of national and international experts. Its dissemination is done through emails, web pages and social networks of colleagues and institutions that collaborate with the magazine.

As of 2015, we participate in training workshops on editing printed and digital scientific journals; At the end of 2021, work begins on the electronic magazine to be part of the literary magazine portal of UNAN-León, for greater dissemination. Currently, work continues on the continuous improvements of the same, in order to provide a document of quality and scientific rigor to the scholars of this science.

Objectives of the Archivalía Magazine

Publish articles referring to any of the research fields of the science of Archivology and sciences related to it, with the participation of national and international academics.
Disseminate the results of research work through full articles, short communications, abstracts of doctoral theses, master's thesis and books.
Provide collaborators with a space, in the informative asterisks section, to publicize the activities and special events that they organize in their institutions. A space in the Interview section, of a mixed nature, to meet professionals in other aspects of their lives.

Post Frequency

The publication period of the issues of the magazine is semi-annual. Items are received between the months of November to July.

The Editorial Committee

It is made up of the Secretary General, the person in charge of the General Archives office, a computer operator from the Archives office, a Language and Literature teacher and an expert researcher in archives, as an external peer evaluator at UNAN-León.
