Analysis of public and private agenda of the Bioeconomy in Central America and the Caribbean: Case Studies of El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba

This work focused on investigating the policy that governments are implementing to develop the bioeconomy in the countries of El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Cuba. The case study methodology was used, where specialists from the Bioeconomy and Climate Change Network address the situation of the policy and regulations that governments have been implementing. The research results in the need to introduce the topic of Bioeconomy in the public and private agenda of the paths of the bioeconomy as an alternative for rural communities to respond to variations in climate change and the growing demand for food and fibers that presuppose exponential population growth. The investigative work was organized in the following way: Sectoral policies and regulatory norms of the Bioeconomy: Case of El Salvador that is addressed by specialists from the country group of El Salvador the second case is the Agenda of public and private policy for the bioeconomy: the case of Honduras prepared by the specialists of the country group of Honduras, the third case is Public Policies for the Bioeconomy in Cuba carried out by the specialists of the country group of Cuba and finally Nicaragua, which refers to the policy that is being promoted on the subject.Downloads
