Abstract

The purpose of this article is to show an improved proposal for the Sociology curricular program that was taught in the period 2007 - 2008. For its realization, the elements of the program were evaluated, such as content, teaching methodologies and learning evaluation; taking into account the opinion of different sources involved: students, teachers and experts from UNAN - León and Universidad Centroamericana (UCA). The information was obtained through surveys applied to students, interviews with professors who taught the curricular component and experts in the field of Sociology. It was found that of the 23 topics addressed, only 60.87% were considered important by the students; on the other hand, the professors and experts valued them as appropriate. In the opinion of the sources consulted, the teaching methodologies need to have greater coherence with the contents and that in the evaluation of learning the skills that presented the greatest difficulties are the bibliographic search (56.8%) and the understanding of new knowledge (56.1%).
