SECTION POLICIES

Contributions to be published in Universitas (León) must be written in Times New Roman, font size 11, with 1.5 line spacing (excluding tables and figures). The document should have the following margins: 3 cm at the top, 2 cm at the bottom, 2.5 cm on the left, and 2 cm on the right.

Each page must be numbered in the bottom right corner, and line numbering should start at 1 on each page. The section headings (Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and References) should be written in lowercase, with an initial capital letter, bolded, and left-aligned (Times New Roman, size 11).


Guidelines for Writing – Qualitative Research

Content:

  • Title: Should be concise and clearly reflect the article’s content. It must be in two languages: Spanish and English.
  • Authors: Full names of all authors must be included. The main author(s) should be marked with an asterisk in superscript. For each author, their academic unit, department, laboratory, research center, and faculty must be specified. For faculty members, the ORCID number should also be included. The main author(s) must provide an email address. This information must be in Spanish and English.
  • Abstract: Maximum 250 words, summarizing the justification, objectives, study subject, methodology, results, and conclusions. Written in Spanish and English.
  • Keywords: Select 3 to 5 keywords to facilitate indexing in scientific publication databases. Written in Spanish and English.
  • Introduction: Should relate the research objective, identifying the problem, significance, scope, and supporting literature from indexed scientific journals. Written in Spanish and English.
  • Methodology: Must explain the research approach, selection of study subjects, research methods, techniques, and ethical considerations.
  • Results and Discussion: Present the research findings, comparing them with other published studies. Discuss cause-effect relationships, theoretical implications, and provide properly numbered tables and figures (Arabic numerals, without image frames).
  • Conclusions: Summarize findings, contributions, and implications of the study.
  • References: Preferably include scientific journal articles, using APA 7th edition referencing style.

Written Presentation Format:

  • The paper must be submitted in the corresponding template (experimental or theoretical).
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 11, single-spaced, letter-sized paper (8 ½ x 11 inches or 21.59 x 27.94 cm) with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
  • Paragraph alignment: Single column, fully justified.
  • Tables and figures: Must be editable, without background color, using pastel tones.

  • Main author(s) must provide an email address. Written in Spanish and English.

Guidelines for Writing – Documentary Research

Content:

  • Title: Concise, reflecting the essay’s content.
  • Authors: Full names of all authors, marking the main author(s) with an asterisk in superscript. Include academic affiliation and ORCID number for faculty members.
  • Main author(s) must provide an email address.
  • Abstract: Maximum 250 words, in Spanish and English.
  • Keywords: Select 3 to 5 keywords to facilitate indexing, in Spanish and English.
  • Introduction: Outlines the purpose, scope, and logical organization of the documentary review.
  • Development: Free-structured section where the author organizes content to achieve research objectives, integrating sources like books, journals, interviews, databases, etc. It must include paraphrased content and direct/indirect citations.
  • Conclusion: Summarizes the key findings and reflections from the documentary review.
  • References: Preferably include scientific journal articles, using APA 7th edition referencing style.

  • Main author(s) must provide an email address.
  • Abstract: Maximum 250 words, summarizing justification, objectives, study subject, methodology, results, and conclusions, in Spanish and English.
  • Keywords: Select 3 to 5 keywords, in Spanish and English.
  • Introduction: Relates the research objective, identifying the problem, significance, supporting literature, and objectives. Preferably use indexed journal articles.
  • Methodology: Describes research approach, experimental design, study subject, experimental site, materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Results and Discussion: Presents findings, compares with previous research, and highlights cause-effect relationships and theoretical implications. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively (Arabic numerals, without frames).
  • Conclusions: Highlights research findings and contributions.
  • References: Preferably include scientific journal articles, using APA 7th edition referencing style.
