The aim of this study was to determine the level of knowledge about menopause among women over 40 years of age in the community of Musulí, Palacagüina. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in October 2025. The sample consisted of 30 women over 40 years of age selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a survey administered through a questionnaire developed by the authors and analyzed using IBM SPSS version 25. The results showed that 73% of the participants were between 40 and 50 years old, 53% had a university education, 77% identified as Catholic, and 50% were single. Regarding knowledge about menopause, 87% reported being familiar with the concept, and 63% correctly identified its main symptoms. In addition, 90% indicated that menopause usually begins around the age of 50. Seventy-three percent reported having heard myths related to menopause, while 63% stated that they felt prepared to face this stage of life. Furthermore, 50% reported that they had never discussed menopause with their partner. It is concluded that most of the participants showed knowledge about the definition of menopause, its main symptoms, and the approximate age of onset. However, the persistence of myths and the limited communication about this process highlight the need to strengthen health education strategies aimed at women undergoing this stage of life.
