Diclofenac microcapsules were obtained through ionic gelation of an alginate solution. Parameters such as morphology, particle size distribution, encapsulation efficiency, and in vitro release studies, among others, were determined. The developed technique allowed for the production of a system with micrometric characteristics and good encapsulation efficacy.
