Dengue is a prevalent viral disease worldwide, cases reported to the WHO have increased from 505,430 in 2000 to 5.2 million in 2019, this disease causes a high percentage of morbidity and mortality among patients of all ages. The alteration of biomarker levels during dengue infection provides information on the early diagnosis and evolution of the disease. In this study, the concentration of biomarkers was determined and their usefulness in the differential diagnosis of dengue infections and other febrile diseases was evaluated. It was a descriptive analytical study of cases and controls nested in febrile patients, information related to the clinical picture of the patients was obtained, patients positive for dengue (43) were selected through molecular tests and febrile patients with a negative diagnosis for dengue (45) , a blood sample was collected during the acute phase of the disease, to determine the levels of serum and ionic calcium, total albumin proteins, hematocrit, platelets among other hematological parameters. Sociodemographic and clinical variables were analyzed. It was found that the average age was 21.0 in dengue cases. The most frequent symptoms were: headache (p=0.02), joint pain (p=0.049), retro-orbital pain (p=0.045), rash (p=0.009) and epistaxis (p=0.009). Significant differences were found between the means of the cases and controls in the following parameters: white blood cell count (p=0.011), platelet count (p <0.001), MCV (p=0.021), lymphocyte percentage (p= 0.001), percentage of neutrophils (p <0.001).
