Despite the challenges, the Nicaraguan government implements efforts to support the capabilities of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, which is critically important for economic development (Langowitz and Minniti, 2007; Hart, 2004). Applying a quantitative study with a correlational scope, and a non-probabilistic convenience sampling survey in 74 entrepreneurial women organized in a cooperative, processing the data from descriptive statistics; factorial analysis, a general motivation average of 4.39 was obtained, which shows that the entrepreneurs are motivated. From the ordinal PROBIT, it was estimated that the variables marital status, level of education, gender discrimination, access to financing and other external sources of income have statistical significance with the Motivation Index when Organizing as a Cooperative.
